Even more, we believe that God's Son, Jesus Christ, died and then rose again to pay for all of our sins (something we could never do ourselves). We're people who believe that God gives meaning, purpose, and value to our lives.

We don't think that church is a "spectator sport;" rather, it is people who use their God-given talent and abilities to help others here at home and around the world. Founded in 1905, we're in our second century of being a member congregation of the Northern Illinois District of the Lutheran Church -- Missouri Synod, so we're not going anywhere.

While we have a beautiful building and grounds that we take effort to keep looking good ... and while we also do our best to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our members ... we are also a church that takes missions and outreach seriously. We want all the world to have a saving faith in Christ, and we do what we can towards that goal.

We try not to "put on airs" and we think our worship shows this. We are a "Liturgical" church (that just means that our services have a dignified order to them, that we think you'll like) -- but we are still ourselves, whatever we do!
