Welcome to Saint Paul

“Welcome to Harvard!”

I don't know how you found this web page (we get "hits" from literally around the world), but I do know that you have found the web site of one fantastic church in a neat little city!

No, we're not one of the bigger congregations of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (we're not even the biggest church in Harvard!). In fact, nation-wide, we are considered just an "average" size congregation. We're not a particularly "flashy" or trendsetting church, either -- but this is a pretty remarkable place nonetheless.

  • St. Paul is a place where we try to worship our Triune God in truth and purity. We are unabashedly Confessional Lutherans -- but that doesn't mean we are "cold" or "stuffy" or only talk about things that happened a long time ago.
  • Our worship style would be considered "Traditional," but it still touches the heart while challenging the intellect. We take historic Lutheran teachings seriously, and to buttress that we have lively Bible studies and sermons that apply the timeless Biblical truths of Law and Gospel faithfully to our hectic modern-day lives.
  • Here, children, youth and adults gather in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. In Bible study, worship, and through the sacraments we admit and confess our sinfulness and forgive each other just as God forgives us. Because we know we are sinners who are forgiven ourselves, we can get along as brothers and sisters in Christ who have banded together to worship a God who is bigger and better than any of us can even imagine.
  • Our building is beautiful, but not extravagant (see the pictures page). Since it is the very House of the Lord, we try to take good care of it -- but that doesn't stop us from faithful and generous outreach and support of a variety of missions and ministries.
  • As a mid-sized congregation, there are naturally a lot of programs you will find in mega-churches that you won't find here, but we are an active and lively church anyway. There is always something going on that you can get involved in and make a difference with. In fact, since here you won't get "lost in the crowd," one person can make an even greater impact than in one of those mass gatherings!
  • Harvard, the city we are in, is a great place to be also! Housing prices are more reasonable than in nearby cities. It is small enough not to worry about traffic but big enough to have plenty of stores (and great shopping in easy distances in every direction). The city motto is "Success Comes Naturally Here" -- and there are plenty of opportunities to prove it in a city that is also a great place to raise a family.

You and your family have an open invitation here! Come worship with us! Come visit and see for yourself that St. Paul is a great church to call YOUR church!
